![]() Different Faces of Sarawak ![]() A former English colony, Sarawak is a state of many wonders. A melting pot of races, Chinese, Malay and more then 20 different indogeneous tribes, like the Iban, with a history of fierce headhunting. Most visitors will start their journey in Kuching. The capital on the banks of the Sarawak river is a living reminder of the Rajah Brooke era when the Brittish ruled the tribes. In the many National Parks there is some unique wildlife to spot, like the rare Proboscis monkey and the orang utan. There's a wide variety of landscapes and scenery like the mangrove forest, caves, rainforest with giant palms and on the higher plateau the carnivirous pitcher plants can be found.
