To the Heart of Borneo: Exploring the Rejang

Following the flow of the majestic Rejang brings you to the real heart of Borneo. Kapit is dominated by the Iban tribe, while 5 more hours by boat up north brings you to Belaga, territory of the Kayan. Their headhunting days are long over, but the indigeneous tribes still live a traditional lifestyle. Longhouses often house more then 30 families and 100 people living off the land, with rice farming, fishing, growing pepper and hunting for wild boar. Visitors are welcomed into their home to share a meal and drink ricewine.
